Throughout my university studies I have always worked part-time. Some of these roles were as a casher and grocery assistant at a supermarket as well as server at a restaurant. I took on many different responsibilities in these roles including helping customers, handling cash and eftpos payments, training new staff, and cleaning duties. I was also a volunteer helper at the Australasian Society for Classical Studies 2023 Conference, allowing me to listen to some amazing speakers. As a part of my study, I had the opportunity to intern with Underground Overground Archaeology, a heritage and archaeology consulting company. The tasks expected of me were to conduct genealogical research of site occupants, dealing with artefacts, and helping with the setup of an exhibition for NZ Archaeology Week.
