Assign appropriate room based on expected needs.Initiate labs, medications, and imaging prior to provider seeing patient.Move efficently and respectfully during life-threatening situations to stabalize and recover patient.Support families and encourage resources offered by bereavement staff.Monitored behavioral health area. Provide patients with a safe and secure environment while they progress to discharge. Provide patient with dignity and medications as needed. Continually assess patient milieu to maintain safe area for staff, visitors, and patients. Respond to behavorial emergencies.Listen. Listen to patients and families to understand their needs and identify where additional resources would be helpful to keep them from returning. Ask questions that encourage communication and support their journey. Maintain positive relationships with coworkers. Communicate in a manner that is encouraging, truthful, and supportive. Be open to constructive criticism and opportunites for learning.Float Pool (09/2013-04/2019)- Float to different units based on staffing needs. Currently float to: Emergency Department, Cancer Center, Mental Health, Spine & Neurology, Medical Specialties, and Orthopedics. Patient load of 4 – 7 patients depending on shift.Manage medication, identify and respond to declining patient status and abnormal lab values, notify providers of such events.Know and respond to changes in patient cardiac function through physical assessment as well as 5 and 12 lead telemetry strips.Know, assess, and document according to each unit specific protocol.Admit and Discharge patients. Start, maintain, and discontinue IV sites and urinary catheters. Enteral feeding maintenance.
