My previous performance as Team Manager at Circle Centre and my strong connection with the organisation and the people working for Circle Centre motivated the Board to elect me as Board President. Based on my experience, my passion for sustainability and my communication skills I was elected as a Team Manager. During my time as team manager, I was responsible for internal relations and communication, finances and most importantly keeping an overview of the team dynamics and the development of the NGO. This experience enhanced my communication and problem-solving skills. Circle Centre is an NGO located in Lund, Sweden. By providing a library of goods, common workspaces and educational events, Circle Centre is addressing the problem of overconsumption and waste generation.

The summer school 'the Journey' is bringing together young people, coming from different professional and cultural backgrounds. During four weeks we worked together on system innovation in order to mitigate and adapt to Climate Change. In the situation of Covid-19, we traveled virtually from Lund to Copenhagen to Kosice, getting to know many local initiatives. In a group of six, we worked together on innovating urban areas, by introducing nature-based solutions and building communities. The Journey helped me develop my team-player experiences, widen my horizon in the sustainability field, and to find ways to apply my knowledge.

I did my internship in the workgroup of Urban Agriculture in the botanical garden of Bogotá. The project was developed, to promote urban gardening in Bogotá, especially in low-income neighborhoods. My responsibility was to assist individuals in the development of urban gardens and consult different projects. Important topics I was educating about, were water efficiency, compost improvement, crop rotations, and seed collection.

During my internship, I worked in the research and conservation team of the Nature Park Chicaque, Colombia. Part of my work was the conservation of a polluted lake, reforestation, the practice of small scale agriculture and environmental education. An important part was the research of the flora and fauna of the park. Part of my bachelor thesis was the development and conduction of my own research project on the relationship between bats and seed germination. My research outcome contributed to the reforestation outcomes.
