I am passionate about many things. First and foremost, I am passionate about making a difference in the quality of education our students receive. I enjoy working with students and teachers alike. A primary focus throughout my career has been providing teachers with the tools and strategies they need to facilitate learning and opportunities for deeper thinking for each and every student in the classroom. In 2018, as a full-time CIS instructor at East Central College, I was put in charge of rebuilding the degree and certificate of achievement offerings in the CIS area with an emphasis on Security, Network Technology and Database Administration. This task required creating 5 new course offerings.I have years of experience in curriculum development for face-to-face and online classes. In addition to facilitating F2F courses since 1991, I have facilitated online classes in both synchronous and asynchronous environments since 2001, having launched my online career as an instructor for New York University. In that capacity, I taught trainers in businesses like Wells-Fargo and Alcoa how to transition their F2F professional development training courses to an online environment.In addition to teaching courses for credit at East Central College, I serve as the faculty liason for the SkillUP Missouri grant and I teach courses through the WorkForce Development area of the college. These courses are designed to prepare students to sit for various industry recognized certification exams from MOS to the various CompTia certifications.My writing and editing skills are excellent and having been a computer science/business teacher since 1991, my experience in and understanding of technology is also excellent. I hold several industry recognized certifications including A+ and Network+. I have decades of experience in professional development facilitation with excellent reviews and feedback from attendees.
