I have been working as an RDN in a clinical setting for over 8 years. During this time I have used my skills to educate inpatients and outpatients about food and nutrition. Wellness is my passion. Not only do I recommend proper nutrition as part of a healthy lifestyle, but I am an avid exerciser. I believe that moving your body is just as important as fueling your body with proper nutrition. I am a firm believer that food is medicine and I love working in a preventative health role. I love everything about food, cooking, recipe development, meal planning, etc. In my current role, I was presented the opportunity to assist with creating and developing a kidney-friendly cookbook for our patients. Creativity is where I thrive. I love developing patient education resources to better serve my patients and their families. I have great communication skills and collaborate well with others. I have experience in public speaking events such as presenting at various schools for career day, leading a nutrition workshop for Subway's "Share the Color" campaign, appeared in media segments for local news stations for cooking demonstrations and developed a nutrition education series for local high school's health science curriculum. I have also completed my certificate of training in Obesity Interventions for Adults. By completing this certificate of training, this has further developed my nutrition counseling skills and has helped me lead others to necessary behavior changes.
