I came up with the idea for “G’Day SA Travel” while working at Adelaide’s local TV station. The idea was to start creating interesting local content for SA people to enjoy. Once the show took off, it got picked up by Foxtel and season 2 was aired nationally, scoring ratings of up to 15 000 unique views per episode.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Creating initial concepts of the show & researching locations • Organising the shoots with the local businesses and authorities • Setting up interviews and shoot locations • Managing the production team on location • Operating a video camera • Writing voice over scripts • Editing video for the final show • Managing G’Day SA Travel social media and websiteABOUT THE SHOW:G'Day SA Travel is a travel and leisure show featuring destinations throughout Adelaide and South Australia. Each episode showcases something different and exciting, concentrating on affordable attractions, locations and events, to give viewers ideas on how to spend their next holiday, weekend or a day off.G'Day SA Travel is a half hour program, capturing history, highlights and interesting facts of the places showcased, combining it with the contemporary interpretation of the destination. The hosts also participate in activities available at the places visited, be it cheese making, horse riding or swimming with the sharks.The show also features a "Regional Cuisine" segment with the runner-up from MasterChef 2011, Michael Weldon, who develops an area-inspired recipe for each region visited. This inspires people to buy local SA produce and gives them an idea of what is best to take home from each area.
