As a member of SCDHEC's COVID-19 Rapid Response Team (RRT), I am responsible for the immediate notification of individuals who have been exposed to the coronavirus. I work with a group of nurses and contact monitors from around the state to provide quarantine guidance, linkages to testing, and other vital resources necessary for South Carolina to come out of this crisis successfully.

I conducted historical document analysis to help the New Morning Foundation meet our organizational goal of reducing South Carolina's unintended pregnancy rate. I began my work with Spoleto Festival USA as a Box Office Apprentice in the summer of 2017. I returned to the festival for the next two summers, each time gaining additional responsibilities and skill sets. In my final summer, I worked as the Call Center Lead and Lead Apprentice, assisting in training and managing twenty new box office apprentices and serving as the on-site supervisor in the call center and at major festival events. Working with business and social science undergraduate students, I created an engaging supplemental curriculum to accompany the professor's existing lectures and coursework. In weekly sessions, I reviewed challenging concepts using collaborative and innovative techniques with a focus on creating "A-Ha Moments" for students that would benefit not only their course outcomes, but their fundamental understandings of calculus. In weekly sessions, I reviewed challenging concepts using collaborative and innovative techniques with a focus on creating "A-Ha Moments" for students that would benefit not only their course outcomes, but their fundamental understandings of calculus. I worked closely with the course professors to create lesson plans which were specific to student needs. I went above and beyond the regular expectations of the position by taking an additional section of 70 students in my first semester as an SI and by holding extended exam review sessions every semester for midterms and finals. Finally, I benefited significantly from the professional development opportunities offered by my employer, the Student Success Center at the University of South Carolina, who offered regular mentoring in and outside of our cohort to help us grow as peer mentors and future industry leaders.
