I like finding problems and solving them, analyzing systems and optimizing them, learning from people and teaching them. As a career-shifter into software engineering, I find problem-solving energizing and coding fun, and am excited for my new career to include both. My background as a business analyst in the healthcare field has me fascinated by broader issues, such as, how do we design a healthcare system that works for patients, doctors, and insurance companies? How do we keep data secure, but also easily distributed as needed? How can systems be designed to reward healthy behavior? I am looking forward to being able to tackle these questions from a new point of view.Whether I'm diving into a code base or thru-hiking the Colorado Trail, I approach problems with attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture firmly in mind. How do I write these tests to best reflect the user story; how many calories/day will I need; how can I make this code more efficient; how many miles do I go today? I love working together with people to mull over questions like these.
