I have worked as a substitute teacher in two different day cares over the course of 6 years, starting in August 2012 and ending in August 2018. My first employment was at Braddock Street United Methodist Early Learning Center in Winchester, Virginia and my second employment was at Berea College Child Development Lab in Berea, Kentucky. I worked with students ages 6 weeks to 6 years. While working, I achieved an Associate's Degree in General Studies with a certificate in Early Childhood Development from Lord Fairfax Community College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with P-5 certification from Berea College. I completed one student teaching semester in Madison County School District, Kentucky. My first student teaching placement was at Shannon Johnson Elementary School teaching 4th grade reading for 7 weeks. My second placement was at Kingston Elementary teaching 1st grade for 9 weeks. Throughout my teaching experience and college education, I have gained many skills relating to child development, student growth, and lesson planning.
