The best way for me to describe myself is to say that I am a ‘work hard play hard’ type and by that I mean that I balance my work time with disappearing off the face of the earth into some Nordic forest or tundra with nothing but my tent and camera. Usually, I manage to make it back just fine, apart from few scratches and bruises so I would describe it as a healthy work-life balance. Right? What do I do when it is not the time for wild excursions? Analysing, questioning, and striving to explain the world is what I love to do. Apart from nit-picking on movie and TV show inaccuracies, I focus on language policy and language in international relations. Over the course of my studies, I have developed and greatly improved my research skills. So far, I have had a chance to create research designs for both, linguistics, and international relations courses and I am in the process of designing my thesis research. Communication is at the heart of my life. I speak Polish and English fluently as well Swedish on a B2 level. I have experience in working as a volunteer at a radio station both researching and creating shows as well as presenting them later on air. I have taken part in a language and culture course in Sweden organised by the Svenska Institutet where I had a chance to meet other student learners from all over the world. As a student I recognise that I lack extensive work experience but even my experience as telephone consultant for a public transport information company was an opportunity to put my communication skills with customers and quick analytical skills to work. Do not hesitate to connect with me! I am open to chats ranging from amateur photography to costume analysis in Mad Men and yes, I can talk about pearl necklace symbolism in The Crown just as hard as I can run off into the wilderness.
