I’m a classical music producer, art director, musicologist and opera critic. As an opera and art critic I worked with the Aix-en-Provence festival, the Opéra de Paris, the Salzburg festival, the Bayreuth festival, the Teatro alla Scala, La Biennale di Venezia etc. being a columnist for Vogue, Marie Claire, l’Officiel and others in Ukraine. I founded and programmed audience development formats and international music forums with the National Opera of Ukraine in Kyiv, the Odesa National Opera, the Lviv National Opera, and the Kharkiv National Opera. Before the start of Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, I was the artistic director of the Open Music City foundation, successfully implementing support programs for young opera singers, internships for young music managers in partnership with the National Music Academy of Ukraine, interactive projects, including for young audiences in collaboration with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra. I was until recently the executive director of the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, for which I produced the first ever performance of Wagner’s ‘Tristan und Isolde’ in Ukraine in the fall of 2021 at the National Opera of Ukraine. Since the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale war, I organised the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra's residency in Warsaw with the support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, the National Institute of Music and Dance and the Polish National Philharmonic in Warsaw. This allowed the evacuated orchestra to rehearse for the first time since the invasion started and embark on a tour that included sold-out concerts at the Polish National Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. I’m currently the mission head of the Philharmonie de Paris project that provides Ukrainian musicians exiled in France with temporary contracts with French national orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National de France, or the Orchestre National de Lyon. The mission project not only helps Ukrainian musicians to continue their artistic careers, but in some cases literally saves them from the brutality of life under Russian occupation In May 2023 I founded the 1991 Project – an initiative that aims to explore unknown repertoire and support talents at risk. The 1991 Project is currently a local partner of Reid Hall, home to the Columbia University Global Paris Center and the Institute for Ideas and Imagination. The project’s main focus is the rich Ukrainian musical repertoire from classicism to the present day.
