Anna is the Professional Coach at Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School. She is a highly effective and knowledgeable facilitator of Professional Learning. Anna has a background in primary education within schools around the Manawatu. Anna started at Massey University as Health and Physical Education Adviser in 2003 and later worked within the assessment team. She has worked extensively in the areas of Assessment for Learning, Teaching as Inquiry, Inquiry Learning and is interested in Modern Learning Pedagogies. She has a Masters in Education which she gained in 2008. She continues to work alongside research teams within the Institute of Education at Massey University aligning her work in schools with researched based methods and practice.Anna has facilitated professional learning for the past ten years to a variety of schools and a variety of foci. This includes Ministry of Education contracts and projects including; Physical Activity Project, Student Well-Being Project – Building Resilience, Assessment for Learning, Professional Learning for Provisionally Registered Teachers. Most recently, Anna has worked in a number of schools leading Teaching as Inquiry alongside teachers to raise achievement of ākonga and ‘shift learning’.Anna has had our teachers on board since day one. We find her the most effective, practical and knowledgeable deliverer of PD our staff have encountered in my almost twenty years at this school. She is very aware of the realities of teaching practice and has very quickly (and then over a sustained period of several years) gained the total trust and respect of teachers. Anna is a natural!
