Professional Learning Coordinator

Coordinate all aspects of professional learning for district personnel, reporting to the Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Participate in proposal development, writing, coordination, implementation and evaluation of State and Federal grants (Title II - Teachers Training and Principal Recruiting, NYS Mentor Teacher Internship Program). In alignment with the District Goals, create and implement professional learning plans for individual schools and academic departments including curriculum design and mapping, innovations in pedagogy and instructional technology including online and blended learning. Participate in Instructional Planning Advisory Committee to review and evaluate proposals for new coursework to comply with NYS Next Gen Learning Standards and State Education requirements. Coordinate and co-lead the district-wide Professional Learning Committee to develop the annual Professional Learning Plan for administrative, instructional and support staff and reflect on current and innovative instructional practices. Coordinate and provide training for teachers and administrators in Annual Professional Performance Review including Danielson Framework and Data-Based Instruction. Design and lead Four Year Teacher Induction Program with a team to include progessive growth targets through the tenure process. Develop, coordinate and facilitate annual Summer Academy for Educators (three-week summer conference). Coordinate U.S. Department School to School Partnership with the American International School of Kingston, Jamaica (2008-present). Provide consultation for gifted child education practices and for individual students. Member of the New York Teacher Certification Examination Advisory Committee for state certification in gifted education. Member of the Association for the Advancement of International Education.Certified evaluator in Danielson Framework - Frontline.
