Anna Tempczyk-Russell, Ph.D: Anna earned her Ph.D. in the field of quantum physics championing formulation of solvation models for molecular simulation. Anna continued her work on solvation models at Columbia University, which resulted in the definition of the Generalized Born solvation model, the gold standard for implicit solvent simulations. Over the last 20 years Anna has gained extensive scientific knowledge working for large pharmaceutical and small biotechnology companies corroborated by many publications and patents. Anna’s expertise comprises but is not limited to, of proteomics, structure based design, protein kinases, antibodies modeling, GPCRs, proteases, nuclear hormone receptors and others. Anna has established a long record of successful and unique solutions to scientific problems.

Most recently, I was employed by Pfizer-CovX Company where my primary responsibility was to deliver solutions and support to CovX research project in the field of protein engineering, bio-conjugation, bioinformatics, and peptide SAR.My interest in computational methods began with my doctorate thesis in quantum physics and continued with post doctoral work under Prof. Clark W. Still at Columbia University, where I developed continues solvation model, which today it is known as the GENERALIZED BORN MODEL. The citation number of this original publication (Semi analytical treatment of solvation for molecular mechanics and dynamics W. Clark Still, Anna Tempczyk, Ronald C. Hawley, Thomas Hendrickson; J. Am. Chem. Soc.; 1990; 112(16); 6127-6129 has exceeded 1800 and the number is growing.
