This was my second experience of the wine harvest. After my experience at Marisco, I wanted to learn more about the winemaking craft and understand the day to day operations of both cellar and the vineyard. During peak harvest, it can be high pressure but we keep the energy up and have a lot of fun - while also producing some really good wines.

I stepped into the role of Marketing and Operations Manager on the ground as the owner of Libertine Blends moved temporarily to London. I was responsible for the day to day running of the business, with a focus on building and nurturing relationships with wholesale and direct customers of Libertine Blends.Email and social media marketing campaigns, go-to-market strategies, introductions and tastings were all part of my role – there was always a project on the go. With the owner based in a different timezone, it was important that I was able to make quick decisions to keep up with the dynamic small business world. A strong sense of the brand was key.

In the Enquiries team, I was on the frontline of the Commission. I dealt directly with the public, receiving complaints over the phone, by email and through the Commission's online webform and screening these against the relevant legislation. A good grasp of the relevant legislation (Fair Trading Act 1986, Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003, Commerce Act 1986) and the ability to exercise sound judgement helped me to stay within the Commission's timeliness measures.

I worked closely with the Auckland-based Communications Manager to build the company's brand within the New Zealand commercial property market. This involved co-ordinating with clients and colleagues to generate consistent mainstream media coverage across the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch offices. I also focused on building the online profile of the firm by managing social media profiles and developing content for the JLL New Zealand Property Blog.
