Overview: Prepare documentation for customs, certifying that loads meet all applicable laws to enable the import and export of goods. Coordinate transport and storage of imported goods, determining duties and tariffs on client’s behalf. Key Responsibilities:- Review production schedules, orders, shipments, and shipping and receiving notices to manage work sequences, and material shipping destinations and dates.- Open and/or amend client transactions to validate information, collecting all relevant shipment documentation from customers, drivers, customs, and other offices while cross-referencing information with freighters to guarantee accuracy.- Communicate with customs agents, ensuring observance of customer specifications for cargo handling, including oversized or overweight shipments, bulk loads and direct discharges.- Instruct customers on import and export restrictions, quotas and insurance requirements.- Receive and process invoices, assessing and assigning the correct tariff codes in addition to duty rates for various products.- Oversee the input of large amounts of data into an online system to prepare purchase orders and invoices.

Overview: Managed end-to-end customs brokerage process on behalf of select client-base. Released cargo to customers and other forwarding companies, organizing transport of imported shipments and assigning duties and tariffs for domestic and outgoing shipments. Key Responsibilities:- Reviewed production schedules, orders, shipments, and shipping and receiving notices to manage work sequences, and material shipping destinations and dates. - Met in-person for on-floor regulation of container, rail car and trailer payment for clients’ international shipments when necessary. - Maintained relationships with customs brokers in other locations and ports to expedite cargo clearance.
