Anna Verhamme is a creative and inspiring senior HE leader with skills, understanding and experience in a variety of HE settings.Anna has over twenty years’ experience supporting higher education both as a leader of University-wide specialist functions and of Academic Departments. Anna Has been Director of Strategic Planning and Governance at Cardiff University, where she supported the governing body and the executive leadership team. She has been College Registrar of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Cardiff and College Registrar of the University of Exeter Business School. In both roles Anna worked in partnership with academic leaders to develop the University’s core activities of teaching and research.Anna has led transformational change and is a thought leader within Higher Education. She has strategically realigned central professional services, led the University transition from a School to College structure, developed and reshaped professional services in academic departments and delivered digital transformation in online services and management information services.Anna likes to work with fearless leaders, who value time to think, are not afraid to fail and learn, and want to make a difference. As change manager I led and managed the change associated with the University restructuring, which merged 10 Schools into 6 CollegesAchievements:• Developed and delivered the University-wide change project, involving 100 staff directly with the project• Managed the appointment process for College Executive teams and developed a new governance framework• Developed and implemented a common professional services structure for the new Colleges and appointed approx. 420 School-based professional services staff to the new College structure• Effectively communicated changes to staff, students, governing body and external stakeholders• Ensured operational readiness of the University’s corporate systems for the new structure on 1st August 2010 as planned

Achievements:• Working in partnership with the Head of School changed the focus of the School’s activities on PGCE and PGT, resulting in closure of the UG programme and renaming of the School to Graduate School of Education• Increased the profile of and focus on research evidenced by increase in external research income• Reduced cost of the School’s professional services• Secured internal investment of £650k for the St-Luke’s campus and oversaw the network upgrade of the School’s buildings

Achievements:• Developed the investment appraisal for the creation of the new University of Exeter Business School and secured investment into the School’s infrastructure of £25m. Since 2007/08 the School more than doubled its turnover (from 14.5m in 07/08 to 39.7m in 11/12), increased its student numbers from 1600 to 3500 and its staff from 110 to 200.• Effectively managed the School’s operations and professional services

Achievements:• Project managed the implementation of a host of ecommerce services, which included the delivery of an online payment service for student fees in September 2006• Project managed the implementation of a student portal, which included access to e-mail, library and the student services system• Led a process review of Residential accommodation support

Achievements:• As SITS trainer I was instrumental in the implementation of SITS as the replacement student records systems in the central administration as well as the adoption of the system by 4 pilot schools
