I've been a writer, screenwriting instructor and writing consultant for the past 20+ years. I'm a longtime and proud Union member (SAG/AFTRA, WGA). Highlights:• I just completed a six-part limited series for Netflix, based on the film Chinatown, with co-writer/creator and writing legend Robert Towne, for executive producers David Fincher and Josh Donen. • I co-wrote three novels (Mycroft Holmes; Mycroft and Sherlock; and Mycroft and Sherlock: the Empty Birdcage) with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. All three were very well reviewed (go on Amazon.com to verify) and are still singled out with an editor's pick. Mycroft Holmes was an LA Times bestseller, and all three are now available on Audible.com. • I co-produced a feature-length documentary, "Kareem: Minority of One," which is still the most watched sports doc on HBO.• I was supervising producer /co-writer of feature-length documentary "On the Shoulders of Giants"​ (Showtime), which won the NAACP Image award for Best Documentary and two Telly awards. • I taught screenwriting at both Chapman University and U.S.C. (2003-2018)• I've written several 'how to'​ screenwriting seminars for Writers Digest/The Writers Store.• I was a writing consultant on Mission Impossible: 2 and Without Limits, among others.
