Being the manager for two software development teams here at Resurs is a great job! It means I focus fully on helping my team do their best work, evolve, and have fun along the way. They are the experts and I facilitate them applying this to efficiently build products of great value for our customers. I’m responsible for making sure we have the right competence and capacity in the team and that we deliver on our promises. To ensure this I work a lot with team and individual engagement and ownership. As a leader some of my main tools are coaching, transparent communication, setting clear expectations and providing structure when needed. My teams consists of fullstack, front- and backend developers, testers and tech leads/solution architects. We work in an agile way, handling new product development as well as maintenance and support of our existing products.

As a coach at NetRelations I was the closest manager to a group of coworkers, responsible for everything except setting the salary and hiring/firing. I used coaching as the main tool to support them in their everyday work and continuous personal development. Listening, challenging, supporting, cheering them on, whatever they needed to reach their goals and deadlines. I was also part of setting up the coach organisation within the company.Being a project manager I managed full projects where we did everything from user research, ux design, prototyping, to building full websites and evolving them going forward. I put a lot of effort into creating a great project experience for both my team and clients, because I saw the difference it made on the end results. I came aboard Magic 8 Studio to work with coordinating, planning and creating user experience. Being an innovative user experience company in an early expansion phase I worked with a little bit of everything supporting that growth. There was a lot of focus on how to evolve the team and setting ways of working. During my time here I also went with a client on a much appreciated small tour of their sites in Norway holding a big presentation on interaction design and introducing their managers to the product we were delivering to them.

As an interaction designer at Sony Ericsson it was my responsibility to evolve, plan and see my design through until it reached the market. This was done in close dialogue with the planning organisation, the software organisation, 3rd party companies, operators and the usability lab. I designed for main menu, information architecture, UI paradigm, UI components, homescreens, text input, alarm, screenlock, navigation services and Greenheart™. I was also Team Lead for a team of five interaction designers, responsible for the allocation of resources, work ethics and creative output of our team.

At Unsworn Industries I was hired to help out during an intense phase of a project called Mobile Parascopes - Portable Augmented Reality Tools for Participatory City Planning.In my role as Interaction designer and Expert adviser I worked both in close cooperation with the rest of the team and independently. I worked on high level concept design, detailed design, prototyping, tests and design specification. I even got to support their business development and routines.
