I'm a state politics reporter at The State newspaper in South Carolina. My work ranges from breaking news to enterprise reporting, operating at the intersection of state house coverage and 2024 election reporting. Whether it’s an insider look on why Republican women senators lost their primary race, a breaking story on the death penalty restarting in SC or an in-depth piece on the divide in the Republican party and emerging conservative agenda, I am in the thick of it. I’m tasked with doing enterprising, investigative, political journalism that resonates with readers and drives subscription sales. I attended the University of Florida where I studied journalism. I'm passionate about crime, political and investigative reporting. I was an intern reporter with Politico, The Gainesville Sun and the Miami Herald.My work has been published in the Associated Press, Orlando Sentinel, U.S. News, Gainesville Sun, Politico and more. My work placed 3rd in the 2022 National Hearst Investigative reporting awards, for scrutiny of $3.7 million land deal with school district that was under FBI investigation. In college, I was the Digital Managing Editor at The Independent Florida Alligator. I was also a reporter for Fresh Take Florida, a news wire service based out of UF's College of Journalism and Communications, where I reported on the 2022 legislative session, prominent court trials and a two-month investigation into a local real estate deal. In previous years, I have been the crime and state politics reporter, as well as the digital desk editor for The Independent Florida Alligator.
