CBEC's mission is to promote restoration, recreation and education on our beautiful Chesapeake Bay. As the Education Coordinator, I recruit, plan, and implement all of our K-12 education programs where students explore the vast ecosystems on our 500 acre property and learn the value of stewardship. I manage a team of volunteers and interns to help our program run smoothly. I have experience in state grant reporting, lesson development and office management.

Arlington Echo is the Office of Environmental Literacy for the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. I provided meaningful watershed experiences for students K-12. I taught with the 4th grade residential program, writing lessons, planning and facilitating many aspects of program.

I taught with the kindergarten program located at Camp Woodlands in Annapolis. I also assisted the 6th grade program in which students participate in a restoration project. I taught and trained lessons and facilitated groups up to 120 students. As a capstone project, I implemented a stormwater retention system onsite at Camp Woodlands.

I was responsible for the initial literature review and data collection of a specific work group project. The project ultimately studied the effectiveness of existing BMPs to remove toxic pollutants from the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. I presented findings to the Chesapeake Bay Partnership and other members of the work group.

I managed waterfront activities while providing a safe boating environment for Washington College students and staff. I also helped maintain the boathouse grounds and equipment.

I led K-12 school groups though SERC's science programs and provided meaningful learning experiences. I worked closely with other interns and volunteers to provide a safe and enjoyable environment to learn. I aided in the planning and execution of camp programs and was given the opportunity to create my own public outreach programs. I helped manage the education department's blog and updated data collected by students involved in our school programs.
