TeacherUniversity Of California, Los Angeles Mar 2017 - Jun 2017Los Angeles, Ca, UsAs an undergraduate senior I was accepted to the USIE program at UCLA where a select group of undergraduate students had the opportunity to teach their own class. I designed a course based on my own interests and topics I felt were lacking at the University. It was titled "The History, Psychology, and Neuroscience behind major debates in the US Criminal Justice System." I taught a 10 week class to around 20 undergraduate UCLA students and lead them through my syllabus. My course included lectures, readings, and ended with debates where students were put into teams and assigned a certain viewpoint (that they may not agree with). It was one of the most rewarding and exciting experiences of my life! -

During my time as a research assistant, I participated in weekly lab meetings with Robert and Elizabeth Bjork and helped conduct various memory studies with UCLA students. I specifically worked on an experiment about learning and memory, specifically, how differing forms of multiple-choice questions yield successful retention of information. I ran approximately 40 participants per week in a computer lab setting.

Co-FounderShiftwear Dec 2012 - Jun 2013My best friend and I created a business for personalized clothing and shoes called “Shiftwear”. We would take any item of clothing and redesign it by dyeing, painting, sewing etc. and "shift" it into a completely new look. I designed and produced the products while marketing the business through social media sites. We launched a running website, displaying all products and allowing people to place orders. This allowed me to learn valuable programming, web design, and promotional skills that are necessary when bringing an entrepreneurial business idea to life. We had many returning customers and were revenue positive!
