I am seeking to leverage my governance and financial expertise in public company boardrooms following a 36 year career with KPMG. As a senior partner in the Corporate Audit practice, I worked collaboratively with my team and my clients - both management and boards - to resolve complex issues, achieve strategic objectives and enhance communication with stakeholders. I was a senior member of the Energy Practice and also led the Financial Services Practice in Calgary. Serving a wide variety of entities and governance structures during my career required me to be flexible and adaptable - to listen to a variety of views and seek solutions customized to the organization. I embrace continuous learning.I have deep technical expertise with respect to financial reporting, public disclosure documents, Canadian and US securities matters, acquisitions and divestitures, due diligence, going public transactions, equity and debt financing, recapitalization transactions and internal control requirements.I also have experience leading our teams to provide enterprise risk management (ERM) services and internal audit services, to enable our clients to maximize the execution of their business strategies.In the community, I am combining my passion for wellness and recreation, and my expertise in good corporate governance, as a director of YMCA Calgary, where I also chair the Audit & Investment Committee.
