I draw from a wide range of experience and skills acquired mainly in a leading international pharmaceutical company, adapting my approach to contribute effectively to the voluntary sector as a Trustee and in other roles. I enjoy making a positive impact at HF Mencap as a trustee, and would welcome taking on additional opportunities to work in that role. As well as specifically supporting people with disability I am interested in healthcare provision generally. The heritage sector is also of interest. I have done work both for English Heritage and Friends of the National Archives over the last couple of years.Prior to doing voluntary work I shaped and delivered change in processes and ways of working on a UK, European and global basis. Working in a highly regulated industry has given me a good grounding in design, manufacture and delivery to consistent standards and a keen understanding of the benefits of good governance. I have developed strategy and worked to demanding financial requirements throughout my career. Project management experience enables me to define goals and targets clearly and provide an independent view of performance. My experience has included leading development of training as well as marketing and procurement.Working with cultures across the world has required honing of influencing skills to deal with very different styles and address resistance to change. I have frequently led teams without line management authority, requiring high standards of leadership, teamwork, networking and communication. I am used to engaging senior leadership, from business leaders at SVP level to technical subject matter experts, challenging as needed.
