About Annabelle Herd

I am a senior executive leader with deep experience in highly disrupted, complex high-profile creative businesses. Currently loving working in the Australian music industry as CEO of ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) and PPCA (the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia). PPCA is non-profit copyright collecting society that provides blanket licences for the use of recorded music in Australia. Revenue generated from licensing is distributed to registered record labels and artists so they can continue to make music for us all to enjoy.ARIA is a national industry association representing major and independent record producers, manufacturers and distributors. ARIA advocates for the Australian music industry, runs the prestigious ARIA Awards, compiles the ARIA Charts, administers the labeling code of practice, provides a ‘blanket’ non-exclusive licensing function for copyright users and compiles industry information and research.I am passionate about what I do: championing Australian music; leading a strong, purpose driven team; and engaging with people from across the music industry both in Australia and around the world to grow a rich and thriving industry that is safe and inclusive of everyone.I have a unique combination of skills and experience across Commercial, Government, Advocacy, Regulatory commercial as well as ‘C suite’ experience, and have had several roles non-executive roles including NGO & Government Boards.
