Enthusiastic people leader with a passion for drug discovery and infectious diseases.-After obtaining my PhD as a Bioengineer Cell and Gene Technology in Leuven, I joined the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg to enhance my skills in protein characterization and structure determination. Later at EMBL Hamburg, I led a research team working on structural studies of several Mycobacterium tuberculosis drug targets and I was also responsible for the day to day operation of the protein production facilities.I am currently working at Charles River Laboratories where our insourced teams provides drug discovery services to the bioscience community within the realm of hit identification and hit-to-lead. We work across all major druggable target classes and therapeutic areas and a range of difficult-to-treat infectious diseases with in-depth experience in immunological and antiviral assay development (both in vitro and in vivo). As a people leader, I am passionate about contributing to the development of our staff. I also truly enjoy collaborating across the organization as site communication lead and as an active member of the Continuous Improvement and cross-site management teams.
