As of Feburary 2024, I am graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources. I plan earn an Environmental Education certification from Front Range Community College in S24. During or after earning the EE cerfificate, I plan on working for a few years in the field to gain experience before eventually going back for my Master's degree.While I worked in high school, I took a few years off from working during college to focus on school. In the summer of 2023, I completed the required internship for my major, Human Dimensions of Natural Resources. I chose CSU's Environmental Learning Center after spending two semesters in the Pulliam Scholar program, where I discovered my love for environmental education. While I might not end up in the exact same field, my summer internship and the subsequent semester job at the ELC have taught me valuable lessons, including but not limited to lesson planning, communication skills for various age levels, community engagement, the power of teamwork, leadership, and last but not least, how to adapt on the fly. My biggest goal as I leave college behind and jump into the "real world" is to find a career where I am able to be a part of the next generations' journey/adventures in nature. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing kid's eyes light up when they see wildlife or learn something new during field trips or summer camp. No matter my destination, I hope to continue to be a role model for young kids learning their place in the natural world.
