I enjoy a busy Crown Court practice across the North West; with a mixture of prosecution and defence work. I still accept instructions in the Magistrates' Court, dealing with, for example, private prosecutions and exceptional hardship arguments. Coupled with my Criminal practice, I accept instructions in regulatory work. I have conducted numerous successful hearings before the Nursing and Midwifery Council. I have recently been appointed to the Specialist Panel of Regulatory Advocates, to accept instructions from the Health and Safety Executive and Environment Agency. My pro-bono experience includes a 3 month internship with the Texas Defender service, which focused on death row appeals.

A large proportion of my time was spent looking through our client's school and medical records to formulate a detailed case for an intellectual disability. In order to do this, I had to be up to date with the latest psychiatric research and very specific professional guidelines such as DSMIV.I aided trial attorneys in drafting briefs and memos. I made specific amendments to documents appearing before the Supreme Court. This required meticulous attention to detail and a good working knowledge of Texan Constitutional Law. I drafted official documents on behalf of the policy department on the state of Texan Law with a view to reform. This required a large amount of research on policy and legislation to produce an accurate memo. Show less
