For more than 20 Years I taught Life science and biology at a Bilingual school in Honduras. I truly enjoyed my job; however, due to the increased violence and political insecurity in Honduras I recently decided to move to the Netherlands.My goal as a science teacher is to let students discover and experience life science rather than study about it in books. I am a firm believer in formative assessment, focus on intrinsic motivation, and differentiate my classes based on students' needs. As a homeroom teacher, my job involved much more than content teaching. I motivated and gave guidance to students, their parents, and colleagues. I was involved in organizing school-wide activities to improve school spirit, chaired recycling programs, science club, cheer-leading, in short, was completely involved. I knew every single one of the 200+ high school students personally and worked very closely with colleagues to ensure the quality of teaching and the well-being of the students.I am currently looking for a position as an educator; however, not necessary a teaching position, at a school where students come first and colleagues work closely together. I am experienced in teaching Biology, Life Science and Earth science in English; however, I also have experience in non teaching functions such as coordinating science fairs and recycling programs, curriculum development, heading the science department, scheduling classes, and supervising teachers.
