I am currently a People Engagement Coordinator at Barstool Sports, where I have taken over the recruiting function to help build a vibrant and empowering workplace culture within a powerful Media Company. I've recently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from the School of Management & Labor Relations at Rutgers University - New Brunswick.Growing up as the only child of immigrant parents, I had to navigate life's twists and turns independently. My folks were adamant about keeping our cultural roots alive, insisting on fluency in Spanish and Portuguese. It's a gift I'm grateful for—it's helped me connect across cultures and languages.Arriving at Rutgers as a first-generation college student was an unfamiliar and daunting experience. Navigating the complexities of higher education felt like wandering in uncharted territory. I tried various different classes, feeling the weight of choosing a career that seemed like a make-or-break decision.I recognized the pivotal role HR plays in cultivating workplace cultures that prioritize the well-being and fulfillment of employees. My aspiration is to leverage my background and academic pursuits to advocate for inclusive and nurturing work atmospheres, valuing diversity, and empowering individuals to excel in their roles.
