As a Project Engineer, I work closely with submittals and RFI's sent to and from the engineers. Through a universal website that shows the most up-to-date response on anything submitted, I organize a log of all submittals and RFI's that are within the system, what submittal is to be sent to the engineer for approval, and the duration each is in review for. This also coincides with our schedule to ensure that any submittal is reviewed in a timely manner in order to proceed with the work.I also keep a log of the time and material for each task performed. By keeping track of the quantity of material installed to the labor hours on a weekly basis, I can develop an understanding between budgeted and actual labor hours and costs. This can also provide a basis for future estimation when bidding other projects, to develop a sense of how much work should be performed in a certain amount of time with a certain amount of labor.The size of this project has provided me with the knowledge of structural work, budgeting, geotechnical work, electric work, and other various fields that I will continue to pursue in the future.

I often work with Auto CAD to display a visual layout of the work to be performed to a site. These drawings are given to the client and the sub-contractors that will execute the work. Learning how to operate Auto CAD has provided me with a better understanding of various job sites. I also oversee the construction on-site and make sure that work is on schedule and running smoothly. I have recently been HAZWOPER certified and can now sample contaminated soil and water to later be tested in a laboratory.I work around the office as well and aid each project manager with any work that they are involved in. I am participating in a variety of projects and gain more knowledge and responsibility by separately working with three project managers.
