I'm chasing big ticket items, have too many ideas & not quite enough time. Anna’s career in renewable energy started at the time when achieving grid parity seemed like an unattainable dream. Over the years, Anna worked on applied research projects to help drive down the cost of energy transition and make clean energy accessible to everyone.A passionate educator, Anna is a full-time teaching faculty at the School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. At SAIS, she co-leads a focus area in Technology and Innovations, and her courses cover energy policy and economics, digitalization of the energy systems, as well as systems analysis. Prior to that, she served as a Director at Clean Energy Leadership Institute, overseeing in-person and virtual CELI fellowships for mid-career professionals. A CELIon (pronounced as "sea-lion") herself, she was part of the spring 2018 CELI cohort. She was a senior energy economist and statistician at the engineering consulting firm Tetra Tech and an ORISE Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy. Since 2020, she has served on the Council of the U.S. Association for Energy Economics and has been a visiting fellow at the Energy Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. At the Estonian Business School, she launched a summer school, a 30 under 30 in tech competition, and a nano-degree, focusing on sustainability and digitalization. She acts as a peer-reviewer and associate/guest editor for several academic publications and as a proposal reviewer for federal agencies.A tech nerd, Anna enjoys following the latest clean energy innovations. Her popular writing has appeared in outlets like Forbes and OurEnergyPolicy, while peer-reviewed articles were published in leading academic journals such as Energy Policy, Renewable Energy, Biomass and Bioenergy, Journal of Cleaner Production and more. She lives in rural Maryland with her husband, two little kids, and a cat Henry. EXPERIENCE:1.
