I am a highly relational person skilled at building capacity in adults and students. My previous experience in business management/leadership and women's and family ministries utilized not only my analytical and planning skills, but relied on my relationship building skills. I am also a leader who is able to move teams forward in planning and implementation, help them develop skills to improve instruction, and collaborate across content areas. As a teacher I developed curriculum to meet the needs of my students, many of whom were at risk. I also helped implement, teach, and lead a new program focused on underrepresented students to build their capacity and skills to succeed academically.As a new teacher mentor I supported, instructed, coached, and trained teachers in their first 3 years of teaching. I created professional development to build their teaching skills, and helped them develop into strong, effective teachers. My current role as an instructional coach/mentor has now developed beyond coaching and mentoring into one of being a problem solver and critical thinker as I am part of building a new online, virtual K-12 program. I have had to learn multiple Edtech platforms in order to teach my teachers how to be effective in an online environment. I support instruction by cross-walking in person classroom strategies to engaging online practices. My outside the box thinking skills are used on a daily basis as I mentor teachers, work with teams, and support administration.
