I am a spoonie (see Spoon Theory) which means I cannot participate in traditional theater productions; the rehearsal schedule is too intense for me. I started Spoonie Theater productions as a way for those of us with disabilities to be able to do theater and other creative projects. We also strive to amplify marginalized voices. You can find us on Facebook and YouTube. If I ever get well enough to work again, I will continue with my hypnotherapy and health coaching practice. In the meantime, I offer a free weekly Wellness Circle on Tuesdays at 2, currently using Zoom. Message me if you would like to join us. We often read and article or watch a video on a topic and then discuss it. We also generally do a guided meditation (mostly we use a recording but if I am up to it, I will lead it).

For example, if I were to participate in a 3-4 hour rehearsal, I would have to rest for several days to recover. Spoonie Theater is my effort to create theater and performance art virtually and be inclusive. We do captioning with our productions and we mainly seek out plays that amplify marginalized voices. The rehearsal schedule is created to be manageable for those, like me, who have limited energy. As we learn more about being inclusive, we will change and grow so that all people have the opportunity to participate in theater.
