I'm one of the cool folks working behind the scenes to make Outreachy happen. My main focus as an Outreachy organizer is information and process architecture — I study, design, propose and implement improvements to our information systems and organizational processes. But since we're a small team, I wear as many different hats as needed depending on the occasion: facilitating interactions and communications between different community members and stakeholders; supervising and actively participating in all phases of our internship application process; investigating and diagnosing issues on our critical platforms, and much more!Technologies and platforms we use: Django, PostgreSQL, Dokku, Git, Zulip, GitLab, GitHub, Request Tracker (RT).

In August of 2019, I was one of the 52 technical writers selected to the first round of Google Season of Docs. I was hired by LAPPIS/UnB as a free and open source consultant, joining their efforts to translate and localize the campaign "Public Money, Public Code" by Free Software Foundation Europe into Brazilian Portuguese. This project came into fruition thanks to the Free Software Ecosystems project, born from a partnership of the Laboratory of Advanced Production, Research and Innovation of Software (LAPPIS/UnB) with the Brazilian Ministry of Culture (MinC) in October of 2017. It strives for bringing innovation to free software systems developed by MinC and coordinating applied research in continuous delivery, DevOps and machine learning techniques.Technologies and platforms used: Git, GitLab, Zanata.

I worked with Tainacan, a free software solution for building, managing and publishing digital repositories of any kind on WordPress. The project was born from a partnership between the Brazilian Ministry of Culture (MinC), the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM) and the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) under the Laboratório de Políticas Públicas Participativas (L3P) umbrella at MediaLab/UFG.I advocated for Wikimedia projects to Tainacan's GLAM partners around Brazil; reviewed their documentation practices and created a new plan of action; was in charge of content migration from DokuWiki to MediaWiki and other system administration tasks; and maintained Brazilian Portuguese and English translations of the software and its blog.Technologies and platforms used: Git, Markdown, GitHub, WordPress, DokuWiki, MediaWiki.

I was one of the 42 interns selected to the 15th round of Outreachy, working on the project "Translation outreach: User guides on MediaWiki.org".I was mentored by two community liaisons — Johan Jönsson and Benoît Evellin. During my internship, I conducted a historical review of the work culture in the Wikimedia community, focusing on efforts dedicated to documentation, internationalization and localization. I also tested different outreach strategies with the goal of encouraging translators (new or established) to contribute with the localization of user guides on MediaWiki.org; created experimental formats of documentation, training and team work; and published a couple of reports with my findings and recommendations to my successors.Technologies and platforms used: TranslateWiki, MediaWiki, Extension:Translate.
