As a fourth year undergraduate at UCLA, I major in Physiological Sciences on the pre-med track with a minor in History, and I am also a member of the College Scholars Honors Society. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois. In addition, I am an undergraduate researcher for Yang Neurosurgery Lab at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. I do clinical research on topics such treatment methods for glioblastoma (an extremely harmful brain cancer with poor patient prognosis), efficacy of radiosurgery to treat vestibular schwannomas, and optimal surgical management of severe traumatic brain injuries. I am also a passionate advocate for youth mental health resources, especially in underprivileged communities. In high school, I helped found and run a board for a non-profit organization called Juvenile Protective Association (JPA) to raise money to provide therapy for kids in inner-city Chicago schools who have witnessed or experienced violence. Additionally, I contributed to hundreds of successful enrollments in a research study that provides access to adolescent suicide prevention resources in the UCLA Emergency Department through my work with the Emergency Medicine Research Associates (EMRA).In my free time, I like to run, play tennis and the violin, read action novels, learn about classical history, and try local coffee shops. To share my love of the outdoors, I lead hiking and camping trips for groups of up to 30 students all over California as President and a trip leader for the Backpacking Club at UCLA.
