• Responded to consultations by medical attendings for psychiatric services in the emergency department. • Conducted full psychiatric evaluations, paying close attention to level of safety, stability, psychiatric symptoms, family dynamics, and other social stressors.• Appropriately assessed for psychiatric symptoms and diagnosed based off DSM-5 criteria for mental disorders.• Contacted collaterals such as outpatient providers, school administrators, and other therapeutic services to obtain further information and determine a plan for discharge and transition.• Determined appropriate disposition plan and referred patient and family to available resources.• Worked collaboratively with physicians, residents, nurses, fellows, psychiatrists, social workers, and other specialists to provide the highest quality of care for patients and families in the emergency department.
