Having been a full time professional athlete campaigning for the Olympics as part of the British Sailing Team for close to 10 years, I took a major career change and began working in cybersecurity at the start of 2023. Through the highs and lows of two different Olympic campaigns, I learnt a great deal about grit, determination and discipline which I have brought with me into the workplace. This is allowing me to upskill quickly, which in turn enables me to utilise the soft skills I developed as an athlete in communication, organisation and efficiency.I learnt a great deal about both myself and how to work with others to maximise performance during my time as an athlete and this, coupled with experience in goal setting and prioritisation, means I bring something unique to the table in a highly technical environment. I get energy from meeting new people, experiencing new things and positively impacting the energy of those around me so looking forward to a lot more of that to come during my future with J.P. Morgan Chase.
