Serving as a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for International Trade & Security (CITS). Proud to support the continued success of my undergraduate alma mater, especially CITS and the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA).CITS was established in 1987 with the support of former U.S. Secretary of State Dean Rusk. Since its founding, CITS has developed a network of academic researchers, public officials, and industry representatives with expertise in critical areas of national and international security. CITS advises policymakers and trains personnel around the world on nonproliferation, energy security and human security, while serving as a hub of research, teaching, and outreach on new and emerging security topics.

Selected as part of the first cohort of the newly-founded Grímsson Fellowship for my project, 'Becoming Arctic.' The Fellowship was created by the Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson Centre in cooperation with the Arctic Circle Secretariat, UW Iceland, Háskóli Íslands, Háskólinn á Akureyri, Reykjavik University and the biotechnology company Kerecis. The aim of the Fellowship is to promote cooperation and knowledge as well as relations between international and Icelandic communities.I was chosen as one of ten Grímsson Fellows from a pool of 251 applications from around 60 countries. The Fellows are invited to stay for 2-6 weeks in the House of Grímur, where President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson was born and his family lived. The house is in the historic town of Ísafjörður, the capital of the beautiful Westfjords region in Iceland. Associate Fellowship is awarded to professionals who can demonstrate they meet the criteria of Descriptor 1 (D1) of the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) for teaching and supporting learning in higher education. I demonstrated this by passing the Advancing Teaching and Learning (ATL) programme offered for those with sustained teaching experience at the University of Oxford. As part of the programme, I was trained for six weeks by the Centre for Teaching and Learning in the Higher Education Academy's Professional Standards Framework and produced a teaching portfolio demonstrating my values, methods, activities, evaluation, student support, and continuing professional development.

Awarded the OIES-Saudi Aramco Fellowship with The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies to conduct a project entitled, “The Role of Nuclear Energy in the Global Energy Transition.” OIES is a world leading independent and autonomous energy research institute contributing to a more coherent and balanced global understanding of international energy markets and issues. As part of the Fellowship, I published the report, 'The Role of Nuclear Energy in the Global Energy Transition,' exploring the key motivations for the development of nuclear energy in the current global energy economy. It considers climate change as a key driver, but also discusses energy security and foreign relationships as other important motivating forces. It also outlines the different drivers for countries exporting nuclear technology and those importing it to generate domestic electricity, and provides important detail on the current reactors under construction, the providers of key technologies and the methodologies which various exporters use to gain a competitive position in the nuclear market place.
