In my current role, I report to the CEO of Navitas, working closely with him to manage tasks and assist with the coordination of all pieces related to creating estate and succession plans for families. On a daily basis, I manage highly technical data and communicate with both clients and strategic alliances to obtain necessary information and coordinate the pieces from our Client Discovery process. I also work with the rest of our team to make sure that daily operations are smooth and handled efficiently.I recently designed and implemented a matrix system to organize specific client information, allowing easy reference for all members of our internal team. With so many details involved in each family’s unique and multi-faceted plan, it has become crucially important that each individual involved in the planning is able to quickly locate the information they need for the plan.Navitas was formed in 2001 with the mission of providing families with a dynamic process that enhances the use, enjoyment, and impact of Family Wealth. In my role at Brunini, my main focus as a paralegal was litigation around corporations and the oil and gas industries. I wore many different hats and worked closely with as many as 15 different attorneys at a time, where I would draft wills, deeds, and powers of attorney. I also helped manage the probate process for large estates and, as both a paralegal and notary public, I would often meet with clients in person to execute documents.While working in this hands-on learning environment, I became incredibly meticulous with developing processes and developing organization around file naming conventions. Upon departure from the firm, I created a step-by-step instructional booklet for my predecessor. I was later told that this training manual was so thorough, it allowed for a completely seamless transition because all of the answers were in the manual.Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes, PLLC, founded over one century ago, is one of Mississippi’s largest and most respected law firms. The firm primarily serves business clients, including a number of Fortune 500 companies and other significant Mississippi companies, including the nation’s largest privately held wireless company, one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers, one of Mississippi’s largest health insurers, and one of the state’s largest banks and health care systems. The firm’s practice is organized into three major areas of concentration: Commercial, Litigation and Regulatory law.

I accepted the role as a paralegal at Barnes Law Firm because of the opportunity to learn new concepts and be exposed to new types of legal work. Here, I would not only work in the office, but also meet with clients to execute documents, and occasionally go to court. While working at Barnes Law Firm, I was able to design and implement structure to several of our client deliverables. This provided clients with clear instructions on how their documents were organized and allowed them to quickly locate any item they might be looking for. Barnes Law Firm offers over 100 years of combined experience in Tax Law. Within the broad field of Tax Law, the firm specializes in the areas of Tax Problems, Estates, Estate Litigation, Buying/Selling Businesses, and Business Planning.
