Howdy! My name is Anna, most people call me AB, and I am in my final semester as a Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management major at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. This past spring I completed an Environmental Education Certificate also at Warnell. My career interests include environmental planning, recreation ecology, public land management, outdoor education. My experiences in local government, conservation corps work, and environmental education have allowed me to open my eyes and discover my passions in the field of natural resources. I have strong leadership and problem-solving skills in the outdoors through my work as a logistics coordinator for a summer camp, and now interning as an education and outreach coordinator. I have extensive field work experience, including wetland habitat restoration and herbicide application, and have experience with ArcGIS programs, SPSS Statistics, environmental surveys, and conservation planning. My hopes for the future include pursuing a Master's of Science continuing to research the environmental impacts of recreation, and learn more about the planning needed to mitigate that damage. I hope to preserve our public lands for future generations to enjoy just as we do today. I am currently based in Athens, GA and have strong ties to the North Georgia mountains and the Western Slope of Colorado. Exploring new places is something that brings me joy and I am looking forward to the new experiences that my future career will bring me.
