As an International Aid Consultant, I have worked in war-torn and developing countries, working with women to establish enterprises for their financial independence. During my off-duty days, I would explore remote communities, taking in the culture, heritage, and traditions of the people who lived there. In the backstreets of Kathmandu, I discovered a group of women artisans weaving shawls from fine cashmere yarn. It was here that I first purchased a Tibetan Red cashmere shawl which I continue to adore. Like a trusted friend, it accompanied me on all my travels and adventures over the years. Two decades and two daughters later, I founded KASMIRI.Through KASMIRI, we offer luxury cashmere accessories that steal the show while directly supporting the women artisans who weave them and preserve traditional artisanal techniques in Nepal. This connection to the community and commitment to ethical production sets KASMIRI apart. With every piece made, I help women tell their stories, sharing their history, traditions, and culture with our customers. For me, the brand presents the culmination of my life's work and offers me the chance to continue giving back to a community I grew to love.
