About Anna Klas
Dr Anna Klas is a Lecturer at Deakin University, teaching into social psychology and research methods units. She is a passionate tertiary educator, with her teaching pedagogy primarily orientated towards facilitating student-centered learning. Anna's research expertise is in social psychology and she has a broad interest in investigating the social psychological components of health and environmentalism. Anna's current research interests include: 1) the benefits of using identity and group processes as a basis for health and environmental messages; 2) the impact that social group processes (e.g., stereotyping, group norms) have on health and environmental behaviours (e.g., vaccination, pro-environmental behaviour), and 3) people's engagement in politicied beliefs and groups. Anna also takes a mixed methods approach to research and therefore utilises both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. She plans to develop research programs in the next five to ten years that focus on promoting positive behaviour change through the use of persuasive messages.
