Als diëtist-onderzoeker mag ik bij Reade aan twee belangrijke studies bijdragen - Plants for Joints naar het effect van leefstijlinterventie met plantaardige voeding, beweging, slaap en stressmanagement bij patiënten met reumatoïde artritis en artrose en Diego (A DIEt for the treatment of GOut) - naar het effect van onbewerkt plantaardig voedingspatroon bij patiënten met jicht.

Hoe kan gepersonaliseerde voeding bijdragen aan gezondheid, vitaliteit en levensgeluk van mensen in de langdurige zorg? Antwoord op deze vraag is het doel van het onderzoeksproject Personalized Nutrition bij Philadelphia Zorg. Een innovatief en boeiend onderwerp binnen de zorg, dat steeds meer aandacht krijgt omdat we ons steeds meer realiseren dat goede voeding geen kostenpost is maar een belangrijk en waardevol onderdeel van de behandeling. Hét onderdeel dat het welzijn en herstel van patiënten en cliënten enorm kan beïnvloeden. Ik ben trots en dankbaar dat ik deel mag uitmaken van dit bijzondere initiatief!
