In my role I support the marketing and comms needs of NIER, including its hosted Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TRaCE) initiative. NIER's purpose is to support researchers and industry partners to work together to solve global challenges. TRaCE is accelerating technologies out of the lab and into global manufacturing.

Following my cadetship at NIER, I jumped straight into a chair at the Reception desk. During my time as Admin Assistant I followed procedures and processes to make sure day-to-day life at NIER ran smoothly. Whether it be providing lost people with directions around campus, booking meetings or organising catering, I loved feeling like I was able to help people during my short time at Reception. While here, the NIER team continued to support my career goals. I interviewed PhD students for case studies, managed NIER newsletters, kept our Communication SharePoint page up to date and designed a range of brochures.

My cadetship was such an enjoyable first taste of a professional career in Marketing. I wrote and published internal news stories for our research audience, used Adobe software to design digital and printed marketing collateral for NIER and our partners, and maintained our web page on the University's website.

In my position at Edge Clothing, I consistently hit daily, weekly, and monthly budgets and sales targets both individually and within a team environment. I handled and processed hundreds of items of new stock in a time-effective manner while maintaining product knowledge to inform customers' purchases. I was trusted with running full days both within the store location I was employed in and other locations. The most rewarding aspect of my job was fostering and maintaining relationships with regular customers.
