Whether it is through the stroke of a pen, the spark of new knowledge, or the warmth of truly welcoming and open community, I am a tireless advocate for the empowerment of the individual and the group. Through years of writing and reading, I have whittled down the methods and styles of the most effective communicators that I have met, whether they be long dead presidents in addresses made to the nation, to YouTubers with a knack for taking heavily detailed and cumbersome topics and chunking them into easily digestible and informational segments. I believe that my passion, intelligence, and flexibility allow me to see solutions where others might not. I also believe that my ability to learn from my mistakes—often times in environments that are too fast paced to dwell too long on them—makes me a rapid adapter, someone who can learn quickly and efficiently.I love pop culture, discussions on the importance of pop culture and art, world religions, and modern American mythology. I love learning new languages (I am fluent in Spanish through my heritage, learned French while living abroad, and have 'okay-to-get-lost-in-a-foreign-country' levels of Japanese and Italian) and trying new foods.I love listening to stories, whether they be the made up ones that encompass the television shows, movies, and books that we read, to the ones that are passed down generation to generation in family chats. I believe that we get one shot to make the best of it while we are on this Earth so almost nothing is so serious that it can't be laughed at, at least once, and that joy can be found in the strangest of places. I think that if a baby hands you a fake phone, you've got to pretend to answer it. I believe that the Mr. Rogers rule is a great one to live by and I am fueled by the belief that by helping others shine brighter, together, we illuminate the path to a brighter tomorrow for us all.
