I love the southwest, its rivers, and their gages. The water policy gene runs in my family and the Colorado River has long been an area of interest. I grew up in southern Nevada, watching Lake Mead’s bathtub ring grow larger over the years and exploring the Las Vegas Wash. After working in journalism and commodity market analysis for nearly a decade, I had the opportunity to switch gears and develop that Colorado River interest into a formal education at the University of New Mexico. As a Water Resources Program graduate student, I focused on water policy and management (as well as acquired an affinity for minnows and property tax policy). After spending several years getting to know the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, I'm back on my home river in the Lower Colorado River Basin, to learn from and work for SNWA in a public policy role, looking at state and federal water issues. When I’m not at work, you might find me hiking, volunteering as a court-appointed special advocate for foster kiddos, attempting a pirouette in the ballet studio, or putting adorable (and temporary) googly eyes on water infrastructure for the sake of a good Twitter posting.
