Anna is passionate about collaboration, community architecture and place-making within the built environment. Growing up in a family of architects Anna has been engaged by design ideas and discussions on architecture and its value to people and our communities since an early age. It is these early fascinations and experiences which inspire Anna to create quality, crafted and considered built environments where architecture works to connect people and the landscape.Anna's approach to architectural design has been further influenced by a range of experiences and learning opportunities, including international architecture tours, being in nature - the bush and beach, formal education, testing and researching ideas, and collaborating with other professionals and skilled crafts people.Becoming registered as an architect in Queensland in 2008 Anna has worked with some of Australia’s major award winning architects including Donovan Hill Architects, Richard Kirk Architect, Shane Thompson Architects and Kieron Gait Architects.Over the last 7 years Anna has regularly been invited to teach architectural design at The University of Queensland, where she found passion for design theory that examines the connection between buildings and their places. Place-making has been an ongoing stimulus throughout her university and practice design work, and became the key concept in a recent collaborative design competition at Shane Thompson Architects for the UQ pedestrian bridge. Visits to exemplary architecture by Peter Stutchbury and Richard Leplastrier during the Total Immersion Summer School inspired Anna's interest further in buildings that relate to their landscape.Anna has established a sustained contribution to architectural design education and had involvement in a number of significant projects while continuing to develop her passion for architecture through a range of experiences and community contributions.
