My name is Andy MacMahon, I'm a junior at Southern New Hampshire University who's passionate about going into the field of wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. In particular, I've got a steadily growing interest in ornithology that already has me considering getting a falconry apprenticeship after graduation.I graduated in 2020 from the Academy for Science and Design, having taken courses such as AP biology, calculus, marine biology, zoology, and sustainability, as well as higher level humanities courses that are required for all students. During my senior year, I was also a part of the Seacoast Science Center's Marine Biology Fellowship, learning about marine environments with other amazing students. It helped me prepare for my senior project at ASD, which was a presentation about sharks featuring the misinformation surrounding them in media, misrepresentation, and why humans shouldn't fear sharks and should instead focus on conserving them.
