I studied Biosystems Engineering at the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg from 2004-2010. Biosystems Engineering fulfilled my diverse interest in the natural sciences dealing with physics, chemistry, biology, immunology, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and many more. I completed my Diploma Degree (equivalent to MSc) in Biosystems Engineering in 2010 with my diploma thesis focusing on the "Characterization of the cytokine Interleukin-16 (IL-16) and its impact on human immune cells". From the molecular and cell biological level, I moved to the field of molecular imaging during my PhD thesis at the Werner Siemens Imaging Center, Department of Preclinical Imaging and Radiopharmacy at the Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen. From 2010-2017 I focused on the "Molecular Imaging of Infectious Diseases: Alveolar Echinococcosis, Invasive Pulmonary Aspergillosis and Yersiniosis". During the last two years of my PhD work, I took on Postdoc tasks including grant writing, submitting publications, supervision of internships and teaching.In January 2018, I joined the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart working on the assessment of biocompatibility and toxicity of magnetic micro- and nano-robots for medical applications. In October 2020 I joined the Medical Systems Central Scientific Facility (CSF) of the Max Planck Institute. We provide scientific service regarding in vitro and ex vivo studies (feasibility, biocompatibility, toxicity) as well as small animal imaging to investigate small-scale robotic systems for potential medical application.
